Don't touch me, cause I'm close to the edge

There is one constant in life: fear. We all have fears, and as we grow older, those fears grow. We also have hopes and dreams, but those fears are always in the back of our mind. They eat away at our comfort and make it harder to get through tough times. Some fears are hard to admit, too.

Today starts a new summer of trying to become my best self, emotionally and physically. I'm starting to eat healthy and workout more not because I'm trying to look like a Victoria Secret model, but so I can treat my body how it should be treated. While it might seem like being skinny and pretty is super important, I've decided this dedication to fitness isn't about body image-- it's about making sure my body gets what it needs. While I hope my body could be somewhat less flabby (who doesn't), I realized I was looking at my stomach after every meal/workout hoping to see a change. I know that God didn't want us to worry and stress about how we look. We are all beautiful on the inside and worthy of the world.

Some days it's hard to get up because of stress or lack of purpose, but we should look at each day as a blessing. We were given this day and these moments to do great things and be all that we can be. Take this moment to get excited about tomorrow and all the things you could accomplish.

Dealing with Nancy

Step 1: Show negative Nancy this cute pup. Jk. (Or am I?--might be a good idea).

Since my blog is called "The High Road Less Traveled," I feel like I should dedicate this next blog post to taking the high road. There are days when taking the high road feels next to impossible, especially when dealing with negative people. Instead of getting upset at those people, take a step back—it makes all the difference. Negative people are going to be a constant throughout your life. The key is to never let that negative energy affect you. There are so many ways to do this:

I get knocked down, but I get up again

Does anyone else immediately think of that movie Fired Up when they hear that song? Might be just me on that one. But, hopefully it got a laugh.

What do you do when the whole day seems like a funk? Your coworkers are complaining, your shoe broke, and the sky is dark and dreary?

A blog is a blog is a blog...

This is my first blog and my first attempt at creative writing so please bear with me. I decided to dedicate an entire blog to looking at the good things in life, always taking the high road (or trying to), and living our lives the way God intended us to—by being kind to others and by appreciating the
